If things aren’t absurd enough in the media this interview adds to fuel to the fire. AM Joy continued her shamelessness by interviewing Jerry Springer, the king of violent trash talk/reality shows. And what was he discussing? The lack of civility in the White House. Here’s someone who became famous for using violence on his ‘talk show’ to get ratings decrying Trump’s poor behavior in the White House. The reality show host bad mouthing another reality show host. Let’s fight with fire. And Springer is acceptable because he’s a Democrat. BTW, that makes him supremely qualified to run for governor. Surprise, surprise. You can’t make this s*** up:
Influential Ohio Democrats are pushing former Cincinnati mayor and daytime-TV host Jerry Springer to run for Ohio governor in 2018, more than half a dozen Democrats familiar with the race told Business Insider.
Many said Springer, who sought the Democratic nomination for governor of Ohio in 1982 and remains active in state politics, could be a good fit for the current political climate.
They, along with the Democrats, are responsible for Trump’s ascension to the presidency:
How did big media miss the Donald Trump swell? News organizations old and new, large and small, print and online, broadcast and cable assigned phalanxes of reporters armed with the most sophisticated polling data and analysis to cover the presidential campaign. The overwhelming assumption was that the race was Hillary Clinton’s for the taking, and the real question wasn’t how sweeping her November victory would be, but how far out to sea her wave would send political parvenu Trump. Today, it’s Trump who occupies the White House and Clinton who’s drifting out to sea—an outcome that arrived not just as an embarrassment for the press but as an indictment. In some profound way, the election made clear, the national media just doesn’t get the nation it purportedly covers.
A Fox News radio correspondent filed a lawsuit on Thursday claiming she was fired for complaining about sex discrimination, after the U.S. television network encouraged employees to report harassment amid a barrage of legal claims. Jessica Golloher, who covers the Middle East and North Africa for Fox
Let’s demand all O’Reilly advertisers to take their business elsewhere. If BMW can do it what is the excuse for others:
Mercedes-Benz said Monday that it has “reassigned” its advertisements on “The O’Reilly Factor” following a report about five settlements with women who alleged sexual harassment or verbal abuse by the show’s host, Bill O’Reilly.
We have to send a message that being the host of a profitable talk show host does not make Bill O’Reilly untouchable. We also have to send a message to Rupert Murdoch that sexual harassment should not be condoned. It seems this network views women as just mere sex objects. So starting tonight make a note of who is sponsoring O’Reilly’s show on FOX. Then let’s put pressure on the advertisers and network to force O’Reilly out.
This is all part of the mainstream-media’s conspiracy theory claiming the Russians stole the election for Trump. What were the fake news stories, again? The only real fake news consists of claiming the Russians did it. Was Comey part of that conspiracy? What about Hillary’s private server? Comey said he saw no evidence that her private (illegal) emails were hacked:
On March 11, the Huffington Post published an article entitled, “Russian Trolls Fooled Sanders Voters with Anti-Clinton Fake News.” The title was later changed to “Bernie Sanders’ Campaign Faced A Fake News Tsunami. Where Did It Come From?” to tone down the obvious slander on Sen. Bernie Sanders supporters. The article further propagated the Russian Neo-McCarthyist narrative, elevated the issue of fake news, smeared Sanders supporters, and made the assumption that critics of Hillary Clinton were gullible victims of Russian propaganda.
Rather than utilizing evidence, the reporters rely on anecdotal evidence to construct the narrative that trolls—perceived to be from Russia—inundated Bernie Sanders groups on Facebook with fake news attacking Clinton in order to sway the opinions of Sanders supporters. The only proof cited was that some fake Facebook profiles were sharing articles from fake news outlets, which can be generally said of any Facebook group about a political figure. The reporters also did not note or provide any reasons for why intelligence agencies omitted these operations out of their reports and primarily focused on citing RT as the Russian propaganda operation.
This in incredible. A conservative FOX News channel host sounding like a progressive when he criticizes the House Speaker for giving more to the rich at the expense of the poor. I guess even some conservatives have to admit the obvious. All the wealth is going to the 1 percent. And this GOP controlled government wants to give them more.
The corporate media consistently ignores global warming as an issue. That makes sense since they are owned by some of the largest multi-national corporations. They have a stake in polluting the environment for profit. That would also explain why they ignored DAPL, KXL, fracking, etc., etc:
Global temperatures reached a new high in 2016, marking the first time the planet experienced three consecutive years of record warmth, according to a report published this week by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
But you wouldn’t know about the alarming trend from the network public affairs shows that aired Sunday, which are closely watched by and feature top members of the media, administration and Congress. None of the major shows ― NBC’s “Meet the Press,” ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’s “Face the Nation,” CNN’s “State of the Union” or Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday” ― included any discussion about the report or climate change in general.
In an amusing twist, the only mention of the report came early Sunday morning during a segment on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” In it, comedian Michael Che lamented how “hard it is to get people to freak out about bees dying or global warming because everyone loves warm weather and they hate bees.”
Talking about ‘fake news.’ The Post got caught in a lie. Now they are forced to retract. But this won’t be the last time the mainstream press tries to spread propaganda and disinformation:
The Washington Post has corrected a story that originally said Russian hackers penetrated the U.S. electric grid by breaching a utility company in Vermont.“An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Russian hackers had penetrated the U.S. electric grid. Authorities say there is no indication of that so far. The computer at Burlington Electric that was hacked was not attached to the grid,” an editor’s note attached to the original article said.
And we can thank the people’s press for exposing this bogus story.
This from The Intercept:
Russia Hysteria Infects WashPost Again: False Story About Hacking U.S. Electric Grid
This is what Washington thinks about the press. And he’s right:
- “If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you do read it, you’re misinformed”
- One of the effects of “too much information,” the 61-year-old Oscar winner says, is “the need to be first, not even to be true anymore.”
“So what a responsibility you all have — to tell the truth”
This might explain why Trump is moving into the White House:
Jeff Bewkes, who is also, technically, the head of CNN by virtue of Time Warner’s ownership umbrella, told a Business Insider breakfast on Tuesday that Hillary Clinton and other left-leaning politicians have focused on “getting money out of politics,” but don’t realize what that means for corporations and individuals who use campaign spending to influence policy.
“I think the threat to the First Amendment came more from the Democratic side,” said Bewkes, suggesting that Democrats might prefer to hear from only specific voices on the political spectrum and use campaign finance reform as a way to shut out opponents.

He also said that the concept of “campaign finance reform” is a thin, yet popular, guise for instituting stricter controls on corporate speech. “I think they viewed it charitably as something cleaning up money in politics,” he told the audience.
The Washington Post on Thursday night promoted the claims of a new, shadowy organization that smears dozens of U.S. news sites that are critical of U.S. foreign policy as being “routine peddlers of Russian propaganda.” The article by reporter Craig Timberg — headlined “Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say” — cites a report by an anonymous website calling itself PropOrNot, which claims that millions of Americans have been deceived this year in a massive Russian “misinformation campaign.”

Trump might be speaking out of self interest. But he is right about the dangers of all these media mergers that concentrate the industry in a few corporate hands. America is going down the proverbial toilet precisely because media, thus journalism, have been homogenized for the purpose of profit only. They are not serving the public. This explains, ironically enough, why we have the scum of the earth representing the Democrats and Republicans. Voters are not be informed:
Speaking in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Donald Trump railed against media mergers involving news outlets that have been critical of him, threatening to completely weaken the media “power structure.” In explaining his proposed actions against certain media companies, Trump said,“They’re trying desperately to suppress my vote and the voice of the American people.” “As an example of the power structure I’m fighting, AT&T is buying Time Warner and thus CNN, a deal we will not approve in my administration because it’s too much concentration of power in the hands of too few,” he said. The proposed merger, announced Friday, saw AT&T agree in principle to buy Time Warner for about $85 billion. “Deals like this destroy democracy,” Trump said of the proposed merger. He went on to say he’d like to “break” the Comcast/NBC Universal merger completed in 2013. He also slammed Amazon, saying that “Amazon, which through its ownership controls Washington Post, should be paying massive taxes but its not paying, and it’s a very unfair playing field … very very unfair and you are talking about billions and billions of dollars.” Washington Post has been relentless in its criticism of Trump throughout the campaign, and CNN has also offered critical coverage.
The behavior of the mainstream press during this presidential election year is unprecedented. They’ve come to Hillary Clinton’s defense without regard concerning themselves with appearances. Their supposed commitment to being unbiased has gone completely out the window. FOX (which supports Trump), CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, etc., are no different in their blatant support for either major party presidential candidate:
The blizzard of WikiLeaks revelations of collusion between the “mainstream media” and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign – working hand-in-hand behind the scenes to destroy Donald Trump and return the Clintons to the White House – are highly disturbing, but not at all surprising. Here’s why.
The death of mainstream media is upon us. A recent Gallup poll showed that over 77% of Americans distrust mainstream television news channels as well as newspapers. Though these startling numbers should be cause for worry, it has failed to dissuade most media outlets from accelerating their spectacular decline into nothing more than propagandist, government […]
While Reuters doesn’t seem to be too concerned about FBI investigations, pay-for-play scandals at the Clinton Foundation and/or the latest email leaks from WikiLeaks, they’re apparently terrified that Hillary might just be too awesome to win in November.
I boycotted the debate since it was nothing but a political reality show. It’s all about the ratings/profit. The American people learn nothing from these two people debating:
The Hollywood Reporter, CNN and Variety said on Monday that very early overnight ratings from Nielsen showed the TV audience was about 19 percent to 20 percent down from the Sept. 26 debate, which attracted a record 84 million viewers.
A civil war is unfolding at America’s conservative news network.
It’s a disgusting piece of propaganda. The NY Times editorial board decided that they would give nothing but a glowing endorsement of Hillary Clinton. It is an obvious attempt to intervene in the election on behalf of the the Democratic Party nominee. It is a complete whitewash of the candidate. They chose to ignore Clinton’s obvious shortcomings in a fashion that is breathtaking for a “great” American newspaper. This is shameful. Just as shameful as Hillary herself. We could put to rest any notion that the corporate press isn’t completely subservient to political power in America.
These two excerpts are the closest thing to a criticism of Hillary. Instead they are really compliments:
But this endorsement would also be an empty exercise if it merely affirmed the choice of Clinton supporters. We’re aiming instead to persuade those of you who are hesitating to vote for Mrs. Clinton — because you are reluctant to vote for a Democrat, or for another Clinton, or for a candidate who might appear, on the surface, not to offer change from an establishment that seems indifferent and a political system that seems broken.
…Mrs. Clinton’s work has been defined more by incremental successes than by moments of transformational change. As a candidate, she has struggled to step back from a pointillist collection of policy proposals to reveal the full pattern of her record. That is a weakness of her campaign, and a perplexing one, for the pattern is clear. It shows a determined leader intent on creating opportunity for struggling Americans at a time of economic upheaval and on ensuring that the United States remains a force for good in an often brutal world.
Similarly, Mrs. Clinton’s occasional missteps, combined with attacks on her trustworthiness, have distorted perceptions of her character. She is one of the most tenacious politicians of her generation, whose willingness to study and correct course is rare in an age of unyielding partisanship.
The NY Times will eat their words if Hillary Clinton is elected president. And they will bare some responsibility for the crimes that will certainly be committed if she does ascend to the White House.
It’s one thing for media pundits to stand tall and proud and support Hillary Clinton as the candidate best suited to be president. It’s another for journalists to supplicate themselves before the presumptive occupant of the world’s most powerful office in the hope that one day they might join Sidney Blumenthal (In These Times’ former Boston correspondent) as a palace favorite.
The media industry, which many claim is out to get Clinton, is actually made up mostly of donors to the Clinton Foundation. These donors are also actively supporting Clinton’s campaign with donations and even fundraising. Indeed, while Clinton’s potential conflicts of interest at the State Department are thought-provoking, her financial ties to Big Media are a concern in their own right. These close ties are especially unsettling on the heels of a primary season in which the corporate media attacked Bernie Sanders constantly, and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was caught manipulating the media on Clinton’s behalf.
The press is quick to downplay this scandal. If it were a Republican or independent they would be quick to criticize. There are still people in America being arrested for smoking a joint. And it’s being done by this White House. This administration has been hypocritical on the issue of Marijuana use prosecutions:
If Radar Online thought it had a bombshell of a video showing first daughter Malia Obama smoking something suspicious at Lollapalooza in Chicago a few days ago, it was wrong, judging from the court of public opinion that quickly rushed to Malia’s defense.
The mainstream media is thumbing it’s nose at the 99 percent. They discriminated against Bernie Sanders when he was running. Now they are doing it to Jill Stein.
CNN is going to hold a second Town Hall for the Libertarian Party candidate in 2 days. The first one was held on June 22nd. The major media is so blatant in their bias they won’t evil attempt to be remotely fair. And the only reason why CNN is giving Gary Johnson so much coverage is because they believe he will hurt Donald Trump in the general election. The media know very well that TV live coverage is essential to the success of a presidential campaign.
Let’s show the major media that we are not sheep and won’t be ignored. Let’s demand CNN give Jill Stein equal time. Additionally, we should demand that they include her in the presidential debates. They have the power. So do we.
This would be funny if the implications about the gullible media and government weren’t so troubling. Wayne Simmons, 62, was a U.S. intelligence adviser in Afghanistan in 2010, and had appeared on Fox News as a “terrorism analyst”. To burnish his credentials, Simmons claimed to have been a CIA agent for decades. But neither the […]
Now we have the smoking gun. Now we definitive proof that the msm is in bed with the Democratic Party:
CNN anchor Jake Tapper is getting some criticism after his show ended up being caught up in the middle of the DNC email leak controversy. One of the emails released by Wikileaks is an exchange between The Lead‘s Jason Seher and a DNC staffer.
Seher wrote, “Thanks for facilitating Luis coming on today, and bearing with us through a meelee [sic] of GOP nonsense and cancellations and all that. Any particular points he’ll want to make? We’re gonna stay Dem focused…”
The email was forwarded to other Democratic staffers with the line “Need to know asap if we want to offer Jake Tapper questions to ask us.”
No matter how this presidential election turns out, it is crystal clear we are in the midst of a political revolution — and the media are a primary reason why. Never before has there been a major-party candidate created almost wholly by the media, full-blown and virtually outside the boundaries of the traditional parties’ apparatuses.
